In researching gear, the HMG packs seem to be the best choice There are only a few other posts about these packs on here but I have some specific questions that I am hoping some owners of the Windrider/Southwest 3400/2400 can answer Firstly is about the materials of the external pockets between the Southwest/Windrider Hyperlite Mountain Gear pack capacities are built into the model name Hence, my HMG 2400 Southwest is 2400 cu inches or nearly 40L This describes the inside volume of the pack The external pockets add an addition 600 cu in / 98L (300 cu in for the center pocket and 150 cu in for each side pocket)
